City Nature Challenge 2021!
Join us for the City Nature Challenge 2021!
The City Nature Challenge is an international effort for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities across the globe. It is taking place from April 30-May 9, 2021. We have partnered with ten organizations across Waterloo Region to get our community outside and noticing the natural beauty around us. Let’s show the world the unique species that live right here!
Taking part is easy:
1. From April 30-May 3, take pictures of wild things. It can be any plant, animal, or any other evidence of life found in your backyard, neighbourhood or park.
2. From April 30-May 3, upload your photos as “observations” on the iNaturalist app. iNaturalist is a free app available for your phone, tablet or computer.
3. From May 4-9, help us “identify” all the species we found in our group page on iNaturalist.

The City Nature Challenge is organized on a global scale by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences.
We want to hear from you!
Alison Neighbourhood is currently organizing a community evaluation project, and we need your input for the project to be a success.
Share with us your thoughts on your community, the Alison Neighbourhood Community Centre, and how the current COVID-19 pandemic has affected your household.
Why are we asking for your input?
Our goal at Alison Neighbourhood Community Centre is to be an active partner in the growth of our community, where people are actively engaged and fairly represented in their city – to do this we need to involve as many perspectives as possible in the process of fully understanding the community.
